Credential Care and Counselling

Credential Care Team Vision:
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up. Gal. 6:9
In developing a holistic approach to encouraging wellness in the life of all SK PAOC credential holders, we will focus on the following three areas:
a)    The welfare of the credential holders, which encompasses all aspects of health.
b)   The well-doing of the credential holders, which addresses the question “How am I doing? Am I healthy and rested, or am I experiencing weariness and burnout?”
c)   The well-being of the credential holders, which addresses the questions, “How is my ministry doing? Am I fulfilling my calling. Am I and my family ministering and living as we to be?”

We are building a great team within the District to help facilitate this goal.  It has often been said that you are only as strong as the weakest link.  Correct - while we are not chains, we are people that Jesus saved and called to minister to others.  In that ministering, let us be reminded that we must also receive ministry from one another.  Serving you is our highest priority.

Minister's Helpline
The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada has established an agreement with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and eleven other denominations to have Focus on the Family establish an all-Canadian counselling helpline. This is private, confidential, anonymous counselling and referrals for ministers and their families.
By dialing 1-888-5CLERGY (525-3749), the minister or member of the minister's family is connected by a trained intake counsellor to a professional Christian counsellor at Focus on the Family offices in Langley, British Columbia.
Each counsellor has at least a master's degree in Christian counselling and is trained in crisis intervention.  They are equipped to identify problems with insight and objectivity, and are skilled and equipped in making appropriate referrals for ongoing counselling where deemed necessary. Absolute confidentiality is guaranteed.
The cost of this service is covered jointly by the District Offices and the International Office of the PAOC.  The counselling calls are absolutely free to the caller.

Kerith Retreats
"Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of Jericho.  You will drink from the book and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there.'" 1 Kings 17:2-4 (NIV)
Today the need for ministry leaders like you to be restored and nourished by God is no different than it was for Elijah.  Kerith Creek and Kerith Pines are quiet sanctuaries where you can receive from God and deepen your connection with Him, your spouse and your calling.  Brought to you by Focus on the Family, it's a place of care and renewal, specifically designed for couples/individuals in ministry.
Find rest.  Find renewal.  Find reconnection with God.  Find more at www.kerithretreats.ca
